Grace Finds a Home

This is our story of traveling to China to bring home our daughter Grace.

Hello friends and family, we have arrived safely in Beijing, China. We flew from Charlotte to Newark, NJ and then 14 hours non-stop to Beijing. The flight takes you over Canada, Greenland, the North Pole, Russia, then China. We landed about 3:00 pm local time on November 6. That's 13 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time. I am writing this at 6:00 am on Nov 7. Today we are touring Beijing. We will go to the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, and take a Rickshaw tour of downtown. Last night, we ate at Pizza Hut. The pizza was OK, but nothing like Pizza Hut back home. Our first impressions of Beijing: it seems like a very clean city (except for the air). Very modern, and the people very friendly and accepting of Americans. We will be traveling with four other couples from around the US who are also adopting. We met one of them last night, the Moyers from Pennsylvania, who seem very nice.
Today we hope to take some pictures and maybe tonight when we get back we will post them. Watch this space...we meet our daughter for the first time on Monday.

Comments:
Congratulations! I'm so excited for you. YOu'll have an incredible experience today as you soak up the Chinese Culture. Have you found out when you get Grace yet? We can't wait to see her in your arms.

You are all in our prayers!

I believe this is the fine bird that got you there?

Continental Boeing 777

Glad you all made it there safely.

Dear Rick, Kathy Sue and Bradley:

We're excited to meet your daughter. Tell her we'll call her by her Chinese name, since we're partial to Asian names. We love you all and wish you a safe journey.

This is so exciting! We are so happy for all of you! We look forward to following along on your jouney!

Love and Prayers,
Brian, Amy, Abby & Tori
