Grace Finds a Home

This is our story of traveling to China to bring home our daughter Grace.

"Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will gather your children from the east, and bring you from the west." (Isaiah 43:5) We had to go half way around the world to the east to gather in Grace and God was with us all the way. "He settles the barren woman in her home as a happy mother of children. Praise the Lord." (Psalm 113: 9) Indeed, God is faithful and today he has made us happy parents of Bradley and our daughter, Grace! Though there were some tears of sadness on her part when she realized that her nanny was leaving, there have been many happy moments since we brought her home from the Civil Affairs Office today. After crying, when she reached up, grabbed Rick's hands and backed up against him while we were at the office, she was showing her acceptance. She has accepted all three of us. In our hotel room, she became a different little girl, laughing, clowning around with Kathy's sunglasses, taking pictures on Bradley's camera, calling out our names when she saw our picture--Papa, Mama, Gahguy (phonetic pronunciation for the Mandarin Chinese word for brother). It was a joy to play with Grace in the park, to watch her eat her first meal, watch her play in the tub and give her a bath, to sing to her and after evening prayers, to get her to sleep. We are thankful for this day! Praise the Lord!!!!
